Mason's first trip to Chicago!

We took our first family trip this past weekend to Chicago. We were planning on meeting David and Cliff in Chicago for the weekend and my parents decided to come along too! Mason did great on the ride down and managed to make it the 3 1/2 hours down there without needing to eat.

Our first night Mason had his first fancy dinner (which he slept right through). Then on Saturday we went to the Cubs game. We took the train to the game and Mason got his first official ride in his Baby Bjorn. It was a really hot day in Chicago and by the time we got to the game Mason (and dad) were very hot so he got to hang out on various people's laps during the game. We also had to do a clothing change at the game because the diaper was a bit too full and he leaked out on Katie's lap (oops-sorry Katie). The Cubs ended up winning!

On Father's day we did some shopping and a lot of walking around. That night we went out to a nice dinner to celebrate Father's Day (Andy's first as a daddy and my dad's first as a grandpa). Plus it was our 6th anniversary! Hard to believe it has been 6 years!! We had a great weekend and can't wait to see everyone again!

I'm such a big boy!

Yesterday Mason was 6 weeks old. At the doctor yesterday he weighed in at 10 lb 6 oz. YIKES is he growing fast! We weren't too surprised by the weight gain seeing as he has little folds on his arms and legs now. :) 

We decided to try out his bumbo yesterday and he did an awesome job holding his head up. He sat in it for about 15 minutes while he did a video chat with his grandparents! He was in the middle of a fit when we first put him in it then he realized it was pretty cool and sat very contently (as you can see by the progression of the pictures).

Practicing for Chicago

Mason took a test run in his Baby Bjorn today before we head to Chicago this weekend. It should work great when we head to the Cubs game on Saturday for Mason's first baseball game.

Uncle David Visits

Uncle David came for a visit last week. He was a little timid around Mason at first but quickly got over that once he realized he wouldn't break him. He was a big help to us and had a great visit with his adorable nephew! Can't wait until he can come back for another visit!
