Trick or Treat

Mason was a pretty cute monkey/Curious George for Halloween this year. Very fitting for our little guy!

heading out of the house to trick or treat

Ready to go Mom (but he wouldn't carry his pumpkin for his candy)

Monkey Face

walking with Daddy

We didn't make it to a lot of houses this year (only one due to the meltdown he had when he saw the car and wanted to get in). We will have bigger goals next year!

Carving Pumkins

Mason had a lot of fun helping us carve pumpkins. He watched what Daddy would do then he would give it a try.

Such a big boy sitting next to Daddy!

Lots of oooohhhhs and wow while we were carving.......he is too funny!

At one point he tried to eat the pumpkin........yuck!

Reaching in to help pull out the seeds.

Pumpkin Bread

Mason helped me make pumpkin bread this morning and he was quite the little copycat/helper.

First, he helped stir just like mommy did.

He made sure the all the batter was off of the spoon.

He also licked the spoon like mommy did too! :-)

DELICIOUS.....just as good after we baked it!

Endless Energy

Just got home from the playground and Mason is taking a nap. Probably because he just played his tail off. He did this loop you will see in the video over and over and over again. It never gets old!

Jump Jump Jump

The playground we went to today had a bridge and Mason thought jumping on it was pretty great!

Mason Swinging

Mason loves to do everything big kids do, including swinging. I was a little nervous that he would fall back on his head, but he was holding on tight!

Pumpkin Patch

Mason took his first trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend. It was a little cold and windy but he still seemed to enjoy picking out his pumpkins. He also went on a barrel ride with me. He was going to go with daddy, but he couldn't fit in the barrel. :-)

Go Buffs!

Even though the Buffs don't look that hot, I think my boys look pretty cute cheering for them!

17 Months Old

Mason is 17 months old today! He shows us daily how smart he is and keeps mom and dad on their toes. He is talking up a storm these days and since he is 17 months old here are 17 words he is using all the time:

1. hot
2. doggy
3. kitty
4. daddy
5. mama
6. up
7. shoes
8. bye-bye
9. please
10. cookie
11. blankee
12 up
13. Shadow (his Uncle Chris' dog)
14. Abby (one of our cats-the only one that will let him get near her)
15. book
16. blue
17. socks

He says plenty more, much of which we can't understand.

How can you not love this face?

and this one..........

and this one too!

I can go down the stairs by myself!

I can draw beautiful pictures on my easel!

I can open the front door if mommy and daddy forget to lock it!

I am getting better at using my spoon and fork.......Thanks Auntie Kimbo-these make eating so much fun!

I can drive my car all over the house!

Snack Drawer

Mason is now too big and too smart for us. He has discovered where the "snack" drawer is and can open it by himself. He also can pick out which snack he would like and bring it to me. It was very cute the first time but I think we are going to have to baby proof the snack drawer after what I caught him doing later...............stinker!

Here he is opening the drawer to pick out his snack.

Reaching in for his selection...............

Got it........Teddy Grahams!

Here mom, I want these.

Later that night, he did not bring them to me. He took it upon himself to open the Teddy Grahams and have himself a little snack.

What are you looking at?

Major Digger

We knew it would happen eventually and it finally did. Mason had his first major digger that left some road rash on his adorable face. Just makes him look even tougher than he already is! :-)

I put these next two pictures in because you can see how many teeth he has.........almost a mouthful!

Silly Boy!

Dump Truck

Mason got a new dump truck and he pushed it around the kitchen for about an hour when we got home from the store. Sometimes he would get going so fast he would literally dump his truck, cry briefly, then put the blocks back in and continued pushing. (sorry, no pictures of the crying and spilled blocks) This cycle was repeated MANY times.

This kid LOVES trucks!

Riding my Truck

After successfully riding Mr Dragon, Mason tried to ride his bulldozer. Not quite as easy, but funny to watch. This kid has got some tenacity!

Riding Mr Dragon

Mason got a toy dragon last Thanksgiving and it has been at Grandma and Grandpa's house since we moved back to Colorado. He recently realized he could ride him and he was zooming all over the kitchen.

Endless Energy

The amount of energy Mason has continues to amaze me!
