1st Ride on the Chair Lift

While in the mountains this weekend we decided to take Mason up the lift to meet all the skiers for lunch. I was VERY nervous about this at first. Could his but slip through the back of the chair? Would he be too wiggly? Would it be too cold for him on the lift? Well the answer was NO,NO, and NO. Andy met us at the bottom of the hill for Mason's first lift ride and once we got on he did not move a muscle. He was mesmerized. The only peep he made was to say "whee" a few times. Daddy had to cover his face because the sun was pretty bright but I couldn't even get him to turn his head to look at me for a picture. :-)

Now, the ride down was a different story. He SCREAMED the entire way. The wind was blowing and it was VERY cold. His poor eyes were watering from the wind and the tears. He also kept trying to climb into my lap which is a big NO, NO! He has to sit in his own seat on the lift (no mom's lap allowed). It took all I had to keep him from wiggling off the seat. YIKES! Hopefully next time won't be so cold and breezy.

You can see the little smile on his face. :-)

Such a big boy riding the lift!

Couldn't get him to look at me for a picture.

Here we are at the top of the mountain for lunch. Eating outside was a bit of a challenge because his hands were getting cold without his mittens on.

Mason and Daddy

Skiing

Here is a video of Mason practicing his skiing this weekend.

More Skiing

We were in Beaver Creek this past weekend and put Mason on skis again. He is getting better at balancing and walking in his skis. He will be cruising down the slopes this time next year! ;-)

Uncle Dave strapping him in.

He sits back so David had to hold him up....that balance thing is tricky!

CHEEEEEEEEESE, MOMMY!

Still laughing even when he fell down.

My new favorite picture of David and Mason.

Cute family picture!

21 Months Old

Getting his pictures were not as easy this month as they have been in the past. He was much more interested in his Sesame Street book and got really mad at me when I tried to take it away to get a picture. I at least got 1 with a semi-smile!

Fully engrossed in his Sesame Street book.

My only smiling picture...............

followed by a screaming picture because he wanted his book back!

Mason doing his favorite activity these days.........playing on the ipad.

Mason's First Time on Skis

Skiing

Now that we have lots of snow in the back yard (and it was warm enough to be outside) we thought it would be fun to try out Mason's skis. He is going to love learning how to ski. The faster Andy took him the harder he laughed. He tried walking in the skis and did a pretty good job but he didn't like it when he would fall down. :-(

Hopefully the next time we are in the mountains we can try again at the base of the slopes!

Can't you just hear him laughing?!?!

He was standing on the hot tub steps and fell off..........not a happy camper that mom took a picture before picking him up! HA!

Mason's Table

We have been looking for a table and chairs for Mason and I finally found one for him today at Costco. It is still a little big but he really likes it and he doesn't seem to have any trouble climbing onto his chair. We just need to work on sitting on our bottom so we don't fall down. ;-)

Doing some coloring and drinking his milk.

Picking the right color for Elmo.

Taking a break from coloring for some cookies (aka chocolate fish).

Fun in the Snow

We got more snow today and it was actually warm enough to go outside and enjoy it!

We eventually made our way to the backyard and played on his slide and swing. As you can see he had fun on his swing.

WHHHHEEEEEEEEE!

Tramping through the snow!

Making snowballs with Uncle Dave. He thought it was really funny when David threw the snow against the fence. Boys!

Little Reader

I came around the corner to find Mason reading his truck book. I am so glad he loves books! Don't you love how he was wearing his hat inside? :-)
