Mason was fascinated by all the divers. He asked when he will be old enough to do that. ;) |

Aquarium
Andy had a early day last week so we took the boys downtown to the aquarium. They loved looking at all the different kinds of fish. Nothing holds their attention very long so we were done in no time, but Mason did ask if we can go again sometime.
The Big Lift
After Cooper did such a great job skiing, we decided to put him in "real" skis and the harness to see how he did. All I can say is he was ready! This kid can't wait to be zooming down the hill with Mason and Daddy. Andy took him on the magic carpet a few times they he did his first ride up the big chair lift! He did awesome skiing down on the harness and only fell a few times. When he did fall, he just laughed and said "I ski more, I ski more"!
Here they are headed up the big lift!
And here is a little video of Cooper skiing. ;)

Skiing
We have spent the past two weekends in the mountains trying to fit in some end of the season skiing. Mason has been doing an awesome job skiing and can't get enough of it. Makes for a VERY tired boy at the end of the day. Cooper is now getting a turn to try some skiing too! Well, just putting skis on and walking around getting his balance figured out. I took him up and down the magic carpet a handful of times and he didn't want to stop either.
We had friends in town visiting with their 2 little girls. Elsa, is almost 2 and they have a new 9 week old Lydia. It was funny to see the dynamic differences between girls and boys. Haha
One day we took the snow cat up for lunch. A big hit as usual for my machine loving boys.
Here are a couple of videos from the weekend.
I love this picture because Mason was reading Cooper his book before bed. Sometimes they can be so sweet together! |

No trip to the mountains is complete without smores!
This was Coopers first official time on skis. He practically ran out the door with nothing on when I asked him if he wanted to go. Whatever Mason does, he does! He looked pretty darn cute with all his stuff on and did a great job for his first time out. Next weekend we are going to take actual skis (these ones strapped to his snow boots) and see if he will be a bit more stable.
Mason and Daddy getting on the lift! |
Of course we had to get some hot tub and relaxing time in!
Elsa is such a little sweetie and will sit nicely and read books. This is the longest Cooper sat still all weekend. Ha!

Kindergarten Visitation
Last week Mason and I went to an open house at his future school. He was so excited! When we drove by church (where his pre school is) he said, "There is my old school. I get to go to a new school now." Slow down buddy.............I don't know if I am ready for all of this yet. He is just growing up too fast!
When we got to the school they divided the kids into 2 groups to go into the classrooms. The teachers buddied the pre schoolers up with a Kindergartner and they read them a book. It was really sweet and I was so proud of Mason for going right along and sitting down without me. It also helped that they book they read was about tractors. ;)

Arizona
We spent a week in Arizona to celebrate Grandpa's 70th birthday. The whole family was down there and we had such a great time!
The weather was awesome and spent most of our time outside in the pool/hot tub.
Our flight was around lunchtime so they boys devoured a cheeseburger and fries before getting on the plane. They were fascinated by all the planes, cars, and trucks moving around outside while they were eating.
The night we celebrated Grandpa's birthday we went to a fun outdoor restaurant called Greasewood Flat. Picnic tables in the dirt (which Mason loved kicking around making a huge mess) and big juicy burgers with a cold beer hit the spot! They also had live music and the boys loved running around and dancing. Before we went to dinner we got some good family pictures of everyone.
This cake was delicious and huge. Not going to lie, it was nice having leftovers for the next few days. No secret I LOVE cake!
One of Mason's favorite activities while we were the was to go scorpion hunting at night with Regina. I didn't know this but scorpions glow under a black light. At night they would head out and shine their lights in the dirt/rocks and go "hunting". 2 of the nights they were successful and Mason thought it was so cool!
I managed to get a picture of Grandpa with his 2 big boys! This is a big year for birthdays in the Buchholz family. Grandpa turned 70, Uncle Chris is turning 40, Andy turned 35, and Sierra is turning 16!!!! Phew, that is a lot of celebrating to do!
